The Final Countdown: Your CFP Houston Host Committee Newsletter

A MESSAGE FROM CHRIS MASSEY,

HOUSTON 2024 HOST COMMITTEE PRESIDENT

November marked a significant period for our Houston Host Committee and the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority. Witnessing the tangible results of our dedicated efforts is truly exhilarating. We are now 34 days away from the National Championship, and the final College Football Playoff Selection Committee Rankings were unveiled this past Sunday.

Over the last 301 days (about 10 months), we have been privileged to honor several hundred outstanding educators from the Houston area through our College Football Playoff Foundation (CFPF) game ball recognition events. We continue to award game balls to Houston educators and celebrate them at outings at a Houston Rockets game, and through other Teacher Appreciation Nights.

Now, let's talk about impact! The Houston 2024 Host Committee continues to diligently forge new partnerships and implement activations across the city to enhance the promotion of CFP National Championship Week and amplify the enduring legacy of our event.

PAINTING THE TOWN

The Houston Loves Teachers Mural Project is a unique collaborative opportunity that allows 11 local artists to give back to various fine arts programs across Greater Houston area school districts, for teachers to lead an experiential lesson, and for students to gain mentorship and experience on a high visibility project. Several artists began production on their murals in late November, and stay tuned for an exciting reveal for many of those on December 19!

HOUSTON HOST COMMITTEE SPOTLIGHT

At the Houston 2024 Host Committee, we are proud of our team. In fact, we are so proud of them that for November we have the honor of spotlighting our incredible colleague, Sara Sitsch.

What do you love about Houston? I love all things space-related, so being in the same city as NASA is unbelievably cool!

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy spending time outdoors, hanging out with my family, and eating Whataburger.
